Pakistan Air Force top seeded Yahya Khan, second seeded Nouman Khan, Muhammad Hamza Khan, and Mustafa Irfan took berth into the semi-finals of the All Pakistan U13 Junior Squash Championship being played here at Qamar Zaman Squash Complex on Friday.
Director Blue Tone Squash Academy Wazir Gul was the chief guest on this occasion and witnessed the quarter-final matches. Secretary KP Squash Association and former Asian Champion Manzoor Zaman, Chief Referee Adil Faqir, Secretary Organizing Committee Munawaz Zaman, Coaches Alam Zeb, Niamat Ullah, Muhammad Waseem were also present.
In the first quarter-final Yahya Khan (PAF) recorded a 3-1 victory against Abdul Ahad Butt (Sindh) in a marathon 3-1 battle, the score was 16-14, 9-11, 11-7 and 11-4. Both Yahya Khan and Abdul Ahad Butt faced tough resistance against each other. Yahya Khan played well and did some resistance in the first set wherein both stretched to 16-14, the score was tied at 5-5, 6-6, 7-7, 9-9, 10-10, 11-11, 12-12, 13-13, 14-14 and at the end won the set by 16-14.
After a tough battle, Yahya failed to click in the second set, winning 9-11. When both were tied 1-1, Yahya marched into victory by winning two consecutive sets 11-7 and 11-4. In the second quarter-final Muhammad Hamza Khan of PAF beat Abdullah Zaman of PAF by 3-1, the score was 11-3, 4-11, 11-7 and 11-4.
In the third quarter-final Mustafa Irfan (PAF) beat Haris Zahid of PAF by 3-1, the score was 11-13, 11-8, 13-11, and 11-6. Mustafa Irfan also played well and faced tough resistance against Haris Zahid of PAF wherein both exhibited some good shorts. In the fourth quarter-final Nouman Khan PAF recorded one sided victory against Saifullah Bahadur of KP in straight sets, the score was 11-4, 11-2 and 11-4.
In the pre-quarter finals Nouman Khan (PAF) beat Abdullah Shah (KP) by 3-0, the score was 11-2, 11-1, and 11-6, Abdullah Zaman of PAF beat Arman Shah of KP by 3-0, the score was 11-7, 13-11, 11-4.
Saifullah Bahadur (KP) faced tough resistance against Asim Malik of KP in a marathon five sets battle 3-2, the score was 11-9, 11-5, 7-11, 3-11, 11-9, Mustafa Irfan (PAF) beat Shahzeb (KP) 3-0, the score was 11-8, 11-9, 11-5, Abdul Ahad Butt (Sindh) beat Hassan Farid (KP) 3-0, the score was 12-10, 11-3, and 11-7,
M Hamza (PAF) beat M Anas Sajjad (KP) by 3-0, the score was 11-0, 11-4, 11-2, Yahya Khan (PAF) beat Muhammad Ali (3-0), the score was 11-5, 11-7, and 11-6 and in the last match Haris Zahid of PAF beat Hamza Khan of KP by 3-0, the score was 11-6, 11-4, and 11-1.
