Traffic Chief, DG-PDA discusses traffic management plan for Peshawar

In order to manage traffic congestion in the provincial capital, Chief Traffic Officer Abbas Majeed Marwat and Director General (DG) Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) Amara Khan held a meeting here on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by the senior officials of the traffic police and PDA.
According to a press release issued by the office of traffic chief that zebra crossings, line and lane making would be carried out across the city.
No-parking zone boards would be set up so that citizens would not face any difficulties and people would be able to enter the no-parking zone it added.
After the meeting Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat and DG-PDA Amara Khan inspected the U-turns at various places on GT Road and issued instructions to the concerned authorities for improvement.
Addressing the meeting, Majeed Khan Marwat said that in order to ensure the beauty of the city and the flow of traffic, a series of operations against the encroaching mafia were being carried out in different parts of the city.
He further said that action was also being taken against those who parked their vehicles in nine parking zones at Saddar, GT Road, University Road, Khushal Bazaar, Firdous, Qissa Khawani and other busy shopping malls. He said that in collaboration with PDA, the city traffic police would manage the flow of traffic and sidewalks across the city of Peshawar from encroachment mafia so that the citizens would not face any difficulties.
Traffic chief also directed the traffic authorities to use all possible means to ensure smooth flow of traffic and enforcement of traffic rules while taking stern action against violators in accordance with the law.Traffic Chief, DG-PDA discusses traffic management plan for Peshawar
