Chief Traffic Officer, Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat on Tuesday paid visit to various localities of the provincial capital to inspect the developmental work of the Peshawar Development Authority for a better traffic management.
The Director Planning and Development (PND), DSP Traffic Town and other traffic officials also accompanied him during the visit.
Abbas Majeed Marwat reviewed the ongoing works at various places of the city and issued necessary instructions to the concerned authorities while also getting information from the citizens in this regard.
He also issued orders to speed up the work of improvement of lane marking, zebra crossing and uterine at various places on University Road and GT Road organized by City Traffic Police Peshawar and PDA.
Traffic Chief on the occasion said that the traffic system in the city was being further improved which would provide transport facilities to the citizens.
Mr Majeed said that with the completion of ongoing work on GT Road and University Road, the citizens would not face any difficulty while traveling and the problem of road jamming would be solved permanently.
He directed the traffic authorities to continue their operations against the encroaching mafia and take stern action against the violators of the new parking zone as per law.
Action should be taken against those who park their vehicles in nine parking zones outside shopping malls on University Road and those who do not make parking in plazas and no leniency should be shown to anyone in this regard.
