Traffic chief urges public cooperation for smooth traffic in Peshawar

In order to manage traffic in the provincial capital, city traffic police has intensified the process of awareness among the citizens about the traffic rules and regulation, said a handout.
In this regard, the members of the volunteer force of City Traffic Police Peshawar briefed the citizens about the traffic rules.
On this occasion, Chief Traffic Officer Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat, AIG Gender Equality Ayesha Gul, SP Headquarters Asif Bahadur, SP Cantt Khan Khel, SP City Muhammad Saeed, City Traffic Police Peshawar Education Team and other traffic officials were also present.
An awareness zone was created from University Town to Dental Cross.
Members of the volunteer force of City Traffic Police Peshawar informed the citizens about traffic rules and distributed pamphlets containing traffic rules among the regular citizens.
Abbas Majeed Marwat said that a volunteer force has been formed in the city to ensure enforcement of traffic rules and to protect the citizens from traffic accidents.
Along with this, citizens will be made aware of traffic rules on the highways of Peshawar to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the city and control traffic accidents.
He further said that various measures have been taken to provide travel facilities to the citizens including FM radio 88.6, social networking websites and other measures.
Chief Traffic Officer urged the citizens should ensure implementation of traffic rules so as not to disrupt the traffic system.
He further said that the awareness campaign on traffic rules would ensure smooth flow of traffic and reduce the number of fatal accidents.
Due to the awareness provided by the students, the citizens would be attracted towards the traffic laws.
