Community Resilience Activity. North organized special training workshops on community risk assessment for the people of Madyan’s four villages Damlai, Dama’na, Kilagram and Aryana.
Participants of the Training Program were from different fields of life such as shopkeepers, farmers, teachers, students and councilors. A separate five-day training workshop for Women of these villages was organized at Qandeel. These training workshops were comprised of different kinds of activities.
The participants were told about risks, hazards and emergencies and participants were given hands-on demonstrations in this regard. They were trained on how to utilize their abilities and how to rescue vulnerable people from the potential effects of natural disasters through awareness.
Tehsil Officer Infrastructure Khurshid Anwar participated as a special guest in the final sessions of training workshops. He called the training programs an important need of time. He added that it is not possible to stop any disaster but precautionary measures can be taken to reduce the damages to some extent caused by calamities.
The participants appreciated the Community Resilience Activity North for organizing such activities to aware them pre, during and post-disaster.
