Rs400,000 for completely damaged house and Rs160,000 partially damaged houses would be provided in KP

The chairperson of Ehsaas Committee Senator Dr Sania Nishtar said on Saturday that all necessary arrangements have been given final touch to commence money compensation for those people lost their houses in the recent flash floods across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
She said that the provision of compensation package to be initiated from Dera Ismail Khan District on Saturday (today).
Senator Sania Nishter expressed these while chairing a meeting at Commissioner Office Deral Ismail Khan.
“The compensation package of Rs400,000 per house would be provided for completely damaged house and Rs160,000 each for partially damaged houses,” she maintained
Sania Nishte added that the survey process was still in progress across the province and those areas where it had been completed compensation would be paid as soon as possible.
She further informed that funds have been provided to the Chief Ministers of KP Punjab.
“An audit policy will also be implemented on these funds to ensure transparency,” she added and said that the PTI chairman and former prime minister had organized three telethons for donation collection for flood-hit families’ assistance.
During the above-mentioned telethons Rs 15 billion rupees were pledged, she added.
Funds from the telethons will be utilized in housing finance and in this regard integrated planning has been done under the rules and regulations to ensure transparency.
Meanwhile, survey teams are conducting claim assessment surveys through tablets and other devices during which the coordinates (longitude & latitude) of the affected houses or locations are taken.
Similarly, household numbers, contact numbers and identity cards are provided to the Bank of Khyber.
She said that the process of payment of funds is being started from today, which will be inaugurated by former Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan.
The beneficiaries will also be provided check book and ATM facilities by the bank so that these funds can be used when needed.
All resources are being utilized by the government to provide transparency in all processes and ensure fair distribution of funds in all cases and various measures have been taken in this regard so that no beneficiary is deprived of his right, she added.
