The contractual employees of transport department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa staged a protest demonstration outside the Peshawar Press Club (PPC) for the second day against the non-implementation of ‘Regularization of Service Act 2022’.
A group of employees working at the provincial transport department gathered outside the PPC to protest the non-implementation of the above-mentioned act. The protesters claimed that implementation of Regularization of Service Act, 2022 was being halted by some senior officers of the department concerned, adding that delaying tactics by the relevant officials have created unrest among the employees.
The protestors also threatened to boycott from their duties for an indefinite period, if the authorities did not meet their demands within a week. They also chanted slogans in support of their demands and alleged senior officials of the department for failing to implement the provincial assembly’s resolution.
“The KP Assembly had given approval for their regularization, but the transport department officials were using delaying tactics in this regard,” they added.
The protesters said that two groups were regularized by the department but further action has been halted, adding a summary for their regularization had been moved to CM secretariat but no action was taken further.
They warned of a boycott of their duties if the authority failed to issue orders of regularization by December 1st, adding that all offices would be closed if the process of regularization was delayed any further.
