Tribesmen celebrates I Day in Khyber

The tribesmen of Khyber observed 75th Independence on Sunday with national zeal and pledged to adopt every necessary initiative to safeguard it and to win a respectable position in the ranks of the world countries.
Prior to it, the day was dawned with special prayers, offered in the morning prayers for the prosperity and solidarity of the country.
The dwellers hoovered national flags on their houses while shops and business centers in the main bazaars of Landi Kotal, Jamrud and Bara were decorated with national and colorful flags in addition with numbers of programs planned in connection of 14th August.
Main event of the Day was organized at Levies Center, Shahkas,jamrud that was attended by Member Provincial Assembly(MPA)Shafiq Sher, Deputy Commissioner(DC), Khyber Shah Fahad,District Police Officer(DPO) Muhammad Imran,City Mayer Bara Mufti Kafeel,large number of tribal elders, police and administration officials and people of the civil society.
National was hoisted and a smart contingent of police personnel presented a salute while a walk was also carried out to commemorate the 14th August.
In connection with the Day, an event was organized at Takia,Sultan Khel village of Landi Kotal under the banner of Zergai Pakistan organization.
Chairman of Zargai Pakistan organization, Shakir Afridi, similar to previous years released thousands of national flag color balloons in the air to honor the I- Day.
It is to be mentioned here that last year he painted a 157500 sqf huge national flag at a nearby hill top and in 2020 he prepared the country’s largest cake, 60 feet long and 12 feet wide, weighing 3000 pound while on 14th August 2019 he made a kilometer long Pakistan national flag to celebrate 14 August.
Local administration and police jointly took out a rally from Michni check post till Takia point in connection with the I-Day.
Under the auspices of Khyber Sports Club sports and culture fair was organized at the ground of government high school, Landi Kotal where the various sports competitions including shooting, weight lifting, martial arts, athletics, footballs etc were held and entertained the audience.
National flag hoisting ceremony was held in district Rescue 1122 center, Jamrud in which Bilawal Afridi, Assistant Commissioner, Jamrud Shakeel Untmanzai, Tehsil Chairman Said Nawab and rescue officials participated.
The workers of Rescue 1122 saluted to the flag and cut the cake to pay homage to the country.
The historical Bab-e-Khyber was illuminated with national flag color lights that amused the viewers
Similar ceremony was organized in Tehsil Jamrud where floral wreaths were put on the memorial of the martyrs.
Earlier, on Saturday-Sunday midnight fireworks had been arranged at various sites including at Bab-e-Khyber.
