Residents of Bazaar Zakha Khel, the remote area of subdivision disapproved step mother behavior of the officials of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) in Landi Kotal towards residents of Bazaar Zakha Khel and asked to facilitate them on priority.
Addressing to a press conference here in Landi Kotal press club on Thursday village council 21 Chairman Attaullah Afridi, Ghazi Khan, Khalid Khan, Said Rehman and others said that the dwellers of Bazaar Zakha Khel have to travel 36 kilometer and tom pay fare of Rs 700 per head to apply for Identity Card or other legal documents but ironically the NADRA staff members ignore them and urgency is given to near and dear ones.
Most of the people of Zakha Khel are illiterate especially the women folk and they are unaware of the NADRA procedure therefore instead of guiding them, the officials compel them to repeatedly visit the office, they remarked.
They also demanded the authority concerned and the parliamentarians to take forth with initiatives to approve a separate NADRA center in Bazaar Zakha Khel and deploy Tehsildar and other staff in Bazaar Zakha Khel Tehsil office to facilitate them.
Only 20 persons out of 100 applicants of Bazaar Zakha Khel get their legal documents daily, they blamed.
When the Manager NADRA, Landi Kotal Shahab Afridi was contacted on the matter he said that a fair token system has been implemented in the center where the token is issued on the first come first get rule.
He added that preference is usually given to applicants of Bazaar Zakha Khel and Shelman areas and especially women folk are facilitated in the center.
