A protest rally of tribesmen against increase in anti-social activities was held here at Marble Chowk, subdivision Jamrud district Khyber on Wednesday
Scores of people of Muran Danad village from different walks of life while carrying black flags resenting rise in the sale of narcotics.
Speaking on the occasion those who led the rally including Haji Abdul Qudoos, Councilor Zainullah, Dodeen Khan, Khurshid and others said that due to easy availability of Ice and other narcotics, the number of abducted persons especially the youth ones, increased many times.
Uncontrolled crimes including ice selling, dacoity and theft have disturbed peaceful environment of Murad Dand village, they added and said stealing solar panels from houses,cattles,water pumps, fans from Mosques was a routine business that was regretful.
They claimed that besides the number of complaints they registered, the administration and the police so far had not taken effective measures to curb the crimes.
The protestors announced a social boycott of those persons who would release the thief, smugglers and other criminals on bail.
They demanded of the District Police Officer (DOP) Khyber, Deputy Commissioner, Khyber and other concerned authorities to take immediate notice of the rise in misdeeds in Murad Dand and adopt all possible measures to halt the sale of Ice and robberies in the area.
