Tribesmen slam desecration of the Holy Quran in Landi Kotal

Like Muslims in rest of the World, tribesmen in Landi Kotal condemned the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran by Swedish-Danish right wing extremists in the Swedish capital, Stockholm and asked the government to suspend diplomatic ties with Sweden.
In a protest demonstration, organized under the banner of Jamat-e-Islami(JI),Landi Kotal chapter at Bacha Khan Chawk,main bazar, large number of believers from different walks of life categorically condemned the blasphemy incident in Sweden and said with support of the Swedish police,discretion of the Holy Quran was done.
Addressing on the occasion JI local leaders including Murad Hussain Afridi, Abdurrauf Shinwari, Muqthder Shah Afridi and others said that the Swedish authorities’ deliberately allowed the far-right politician to burn the Quran that provoked feelings of millions of the Muslims.
They added that some European countries under the false pretext of advocating freedom of speech permit extremists to spread hatred against Muslims and Islamic values.
The speakers asked the government and the Muslim Ummah to forthwith expel the Swedish envoys of their countries and cut off diplomatic and trade ties with Sweden.
The participants also urged the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) to come forward and play its active role to uphold honor and respect of the Holy Quran.
The protestors chanted slogans against the Swedish government and the blasphemy event and dispersed after offering prayers of soldiery of the Muslim Ummah.
It is to be stated here that Salwan Momika, a 37-year-old Iraqi who fled to Sweden several years ago, tore up and lit pages of the Holy Quran on fire on Thursday as Muslims celebrated the Eid al-Adha holiday.
