The tribesmen of the tribal district South Waziristan staged a protest demonstration in front of the Deputy Commissioner office here on Tuesday against the alleged delay in release of compensation to the affected families of South Waziristan.
Hundreds of emotionally charged protestors blocked the main entrance gate of the deputy commissioner’s office and chanted slogans in favor of their demands.
Addressing the protesting tribesmen, Sherpao Mahsud Advocate, Nadeem Awam Dost and other dignitaries of “Yu Mahsood” strongly denounced the alleged delay in initiation of survey of the remaining areas affected during the military operation “Rah e Nijat” and delay in release of compensation to the affected families.
Later, the protestors camped in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office and blocked the main entrance of the office for all sorts of movements.
The protesting tribesmen threatened to continue the protest camp till approval of their demands.
Meantime transaction of government employees and school going children of Zam Public School, situated inside the Deputy Commissioner Compound, was hindered due to blockage of the main entry gate of the office.
