Taribal Union of Journalists(TUJ) chairman Qazi Fazlullah condemned attack on the journalist house in Kurram district and demanded of the government to ensure protection of journalists and arrest the responsibles.
In a statement Qazi Fazlullah said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has failed to provide protection to journalists.
He said a day before unknown people attacked the house Muhammad Ali in Kurram district. He said hand grenades were hurled to the house of journalist Muhammad Ali however no casualty was repprted.He said the whole journalists community condemned the attack and demanded the arrest of those who were behind the attack.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government should provide protection to Muhammad Ali and his family, Qazi said. He added journalists in newly merged districts were in danger for the last two decades.
He urged the international journalists and human rights organizations to take notice of the growing incidents with journalists.
The chairman said he was contact with the journalists in Newly Merged District and soon they would call a meeting to chalk out strategy for the safety and security of tribal journalists.
