The suicide attack on the mosque of Police Lines Peshawar claimed more than 100 lives and left several dozen wounded. The attack which left the whole nation shocked also claimed the lives of two all weather friends.
Shaheed Iftikhar and Shaheed Ibn Amin, two policemen who embraced martyrdom in the explosion were childhood friends and joined the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police at the same time.
After completing their education from the same school and college, they joined the force and remained loyal to each other till their last time.
Earlier, Iftikhar joined WAPDA department, but not being able to bear the separation of his friend, he left his job in Wapad and joined the police force.
According to relatives, both the martyrs were a source of honor and pride for their families.
The funeral prayers of both the martyrs were offered in their native town of Charsadda.
A large number of people from all walks of life attended the funeral prayers of the policemen.
The relatives and relatives of Ibn Amin and Iftikhar have expressed their determination that they will not be intimidated by terrorists in any way.
Their children will also follow the footsteps of these martyrs and protect the country and nations.
The brother of Shaheed Iftikhar has also embraced martyrdom and sacrificed himself for the country and the nation.
According to the spokesperson of the Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) has confirmed that the death toll from the mosque suicide blast has reached to 100.
He shared that 53 injured people were under treatment, out of which seven wounded were admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
