Urban Area Development Authorities to be made functional on modern lines: Faisal Amin Gandapur

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to activate urban area development authorities across the province on modern lines. Under the plan, the infrastructure of townships will be developed on scientific basis whereas provision of basic civic amenities system for the township dwellers will work in a fully automated manner and all such townships will be declared safe cities by ensuring the use of information technology as well.
An important meeting of Urban Areas Development Board was held under the chairmanship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Government, Elections and Rural Development Faisal Amin Khan Gandapur at Local Government Secretariat Peshawar.
The meeting decided to take special measures to resolve the issues and problems related to townships on emergency basis as well as to provide better facilities to the residents.
Faisal Amin Gandapur directed the authorities to perform their duties diligently in this regard and fight for the achievement of the set targets so that the confidence and satisfaction of the people in the institutions is fully restored.
“We have to join the ranks of developed nations as soon as possible as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran khan and standby directives of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan. He clarified that the government would not compromise on development projects and quality of municipal services in the province at any cost.
The Minister for Local Government said that the provincial government would encourage hard working and honest officers in every possible way under the policy of reward and punishment whereas his government would not shy away from the harshest reprimand of duty shirking and corrupt officials.
He said that basic facilities to the people at their door steps as well as fully functioning of the institutions was need of the hour so that the dream of the Prime Minister to establish a welfare state in the style of Madina could be realized as soon as possible, he concluded.
