ISLAMABAD
An important movement forward has been witnessed in 4th round of their Counterterrorism Dialogue in Washington between Pakistan and US. Both the countries have reaffirmed their resolve to further strengthen partnership against the terrorism, make effective joint steps for regional peace and stability. The talks were co-chaired by US Coordinator for Counterterrorism Ambassador Gregory LoGerfo and Pakistan’s Special Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Nabeel Munir.
The United States and Pakistan affirmed their joint resolve to confront terrorist organizations that endanger the safety of their citizens and the stability of the region, including ISIS-Khorasan (ISIS-K), al-Qa’ida (AQ), the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its affiliates.
The two countries agreed to continue deep bilateral and multilateral cooperation, exploring avenues for technical training, investigative assistance, and prosecution support.
