Use of social media without permission by govt employees banned

Federal government has imposed ban on government employees for using social media without permission.
It has been said in a circular issued by establishment division that government employees cannot use social media platform without permission.
According to memorandum this decision has been taken for preventing official information and documents from becoming leaked. The government employees therein have been directed to uphold government servants (conduct) rules 1964.
It has been said in the memorandum government employee cannot express views or give statement on social media without permission. Government employee cannot share documents or information with irrelevant persons. The government employees cannot give any opinion or state the facts which affects government prestige.
According to circular government employees are not allowed to give statement against government policies, decisions, national sovereignty and dignity. Government employees have often been seen engaging in debate on social media. The directives are aimed at not banning positive use of social media.
It has been directed in memorandum government institutions should continue to keep watch on removing objectionable material from social media platform. Government employees of all services groups are bound to comply with these directives. The employees who are found violating these directives they will be subjected to misconduct proceedings.
It has been directed in memorandum that all federal secretaries, additional secretaries , heads of departments and chief secretaries should get implement these orders.
