Speakers highlighted the importance of vote in a gathering organized in connection with “voters day” (07, December) here in Shaheed Abdul Azam higher secondary school, Jamrud on Wednesday.
Member provincial assembly(minority)Wilson Wazir,tehsil chairmen Said Nawab, assistant district education officer Shahid Ali, principal of the school Shah Jehan, district election officer Shahid Ali besides a good number of elders, councilors, political elites, women, students, journalists and laymen attended the moot.
Addressing on the occasion, speakers shed light on the importance of the vote and said it was national property that should be utilized in the best interest of the country.
They said casting vote was the right of every citizen and development of an area was linked to electing honest representatives.
Right of vote was the lonely way through which political awareness could be created among the masses, they remarked.
District election commissioner Shahid Ali said the seminar was arranged with the purpose to create awareness among the people about the importance of their right to vote.
Prior to it, students presented speeches in connection with the day.
