WB’s delegation briefs Ghani on project

A World Bank delegation met with Provincial Minister of Sind for Local Government and Kacchi Abadies Saeed Ghani on Thursday and briefed him on the modernization efforts of water and sewerage system in Karachi and a project of WSSIP’s project for the purpose.
The four member delegation was led by Andres Rodi, senior water resource management specialist. Other members were Farhan Ullah Sami, senior water and sanitation specialist, Sarah Afridi, associate investment officer and Basharat Saeed, water resource specialist.
The delegation assured Ghani with investment by the World Bank in the sector.
The provincial minister Ghani asked for details of the concerned projects from MD Water Board and other officials, and instructed them to complete a comprehensive feasibility report and prepare PC1 in this regard. He stressed for the rapid practical work to complete the project.
Ghani also agreed with the suggestions from the delegation for administrative reforms.
Khalid Haider Shah, Secretary for Local Government, Khalid Sheikh, MD Water Board, Ayub Sheikh, DMD Planning Water Board, Muhammad Shakeel Qureshi, Director Investment Karachi and Sewerage Services Improvement and other also attended the meeting.
