Information minister Fawad Chaudhry has said targeting Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan is condemnable and he has never caused harm to national economy therefore, we are filing case against Justice (Retd) Wajih ud Din.
“We are going to issue notice to the channels which ran his statement. Freedom of media is being used to run some specific campaign, he said this while addressing a press conference here Thursday.
He went on to say article 9 of the constitution gives basic rights to the citizens. Unfortunately we are violating article 9 of the constitution. The right of personal prestige is being violated in social media, he indicated. The freedom of press is being used to weaken system in Pakistan.
He observed that it was stated the kitchen expenses of Bani Gala are Rs 5 million and Jahnagir Tarin bears these expenses. But Jahangir Tareen has refuted it. We want to move forward legislation along with media.
He indicated Najam Sethi conducted a program wherein he said that Imran Khan has divorced his wife. Later it was said that chief commissioner Islamabad was changed so that the repair work in Bani Gala could be carried out. Targetting PM is condemnable.
We daily see that campaign is launched daily against the judiciary, army, institutions and others, he said adding this all is being done to weaken Pakistan.
We are filing case against Justice (Retd) Wajih ud Din. We are giving notice to the channels which have run the statement of Wajih ud Din.
If there is no media rules for chief executive then what hope is left for a common man, he remarked.
He underscored the Jamaima, the former wife of Imran Khan was the richest woman but he did not obtain any share from her, otherwise he would have been the richest man of the world, he observed.
