ISLAMABAD : Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said we can afford to host no more Afghan refugees if situation deteriorates in Afghanistan.
“ Such elements can enter into Pakistan in the guise of Afghan refugees who may cause harm to the country, , Shah Mehmood Qureshi said this in a statement issued here Tuesday.
I am here in Tajikistan to attend meeting of foreign minister council of Shanghai Cooperation Organization. I want to discuss Afghan situation with the important countries of the region.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said he had detailed discussion with Tajikistan on Afghanistan. He will meet with Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan. And expected to meet the Foreign ministers of Russia and China.
We want that a consensus strategy be pursued after consultations with these important countries, he said adding Pakistan is discharging its obligations in befitting manner.
He further added that if peace in Afghanistan deteriorates the neighbors will be more affected. He said that despite limited resources, we continued to serve the Afghan refugees.
The Foreign Minister said that important personalities of Afghanistan are invited for talks. India has played the role of spoilers in Afghanistan. India is disrupting the region. The International Community should stop India from adopting negative attitude. . India should let Afghanistan in peace.
