PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman while calling for immediate election has said “ we need election forthwith as it is our obligation to return the nation its trust.
He held “we stand by our stance but there is a limit to expediency. Yes, if you think there are flaws in the electoral system and there are chances of rigging again therein then take advantage of the assemblies for the time being and introduce electoral reforms. Some such reforms which are inevitable should also be introduced so that the mess is cleansed. We have come out of dirty water and again we may not drift into dirty water. Instead we should descend into clean water. We still stand by our stance to this extent.
There is limit to expediency. Perhaps it may not be the stance of JUI-F that there should be power and it should be prolonged and then more prolonged unnecessarily. We will have our own opinion on it and still we have a crystal clear opinion on it, he added.
