We want peace to put country on track of uplift: Mayor

City Mayor Mardan, Himayatullah Mayar has said that they wanted peace in the country in general and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in particular to put the country on the track of progress and development.
Addressing a condolence reference for the martyrs of Police Lines Peshawar blast and a condemnation meeting in the Local Council Mardan on Tuesday, he urged political parties to show indiscriminate unity to take stern action against terrorists.
Qari Junaid presided over the meeting of the City Council Mardan while chairmen from various union councils also addressed the meeting.
City Mayor Himayatullah Mayar said that the sacrifices of the martyrs of police and general public will not go in waste and added that Pakistan would be turned into a cradle of peace through joint efforts against terrorism.
He termed the Police Lines terrorism incident highly condemnable and saluted the sacrifices of police martyrs, security agencies and general public in the war against terrorism.
The City Mayor Mardan urged the participatory chairmen of the union councils to play their due role in passing the message of peace to their respective localities. We want peace in our country and should have to play a role in this regard so strong action would be taken against terrorism in the country in general and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in particular.
Later, the representatives of the local governments staged under the leadership of City Mayor Mardan till Commissioner House, Mardan, arrived at the monument of Police Martyrs and laid a floral wreath on it.
