MQM Pakistan senior leader and federal minister Syed Mustafa Kamal has said Lahore has gone ahead Karachi by 50 years while PPP provincial government is depriving Karachi of its due share of funds for 18 years.
“PPP led Sindh government is not allowing Karachi to play its role for Pakistan. Lahore has gone ahead Karachi by 50 years. Lahore too is part of Pakistan.
We are happy that Lahore has moved ahead. But lawlessness is at peak in Sindh. World is going to moon and our children are dying by falling into gutters. MQM Pakistan will not remain silent now . We have done the politics of parliament. We will now talk on roads.
We will bring people to roads and launch protest movement for the rights of citizens, federal minister said this while addressing a press conference along with members of central committee and members of assembly here.
Today’s press conference is aimed at diverting attention to the problems facing Karachi besides deciding about future strategy in this regard, he added.
He pointed out federation has provided 2238 billion rupees to Sindh while 22000 billion rupees have been received by Sindh during last 18 years.
According to him major portion of this amount has been earned and provided by Karachi. But Karachi received only Rs 680 billion out of Rs 22000 billion which is sheer injustice with Karachi.
Resources were provided to Karachi under federal formula till 2010 . Later Sindh government is receiving funds from federal government but is not providing its due share to Karachi. Had Karachi been given its right then roads, hospitals would have been built and new opportunities of employment generated.
Not IMF but Karachi can pull Pakistan out of economic morass and on the other hand Karachi is not being allowed to play its role.
Lawlessness is at peak in Sindh province.
World is making air ambulance but here cycle ambulance is being run.
MQM will not remain silent now. Now all the ways will be pursued within constitutional parameters.
