ISLAMABAD, Dec 14 (Online): Chief Justice (CJ) Islamabad High Court (IHC) Athar Minallh has remarked “ when state becomes corrupt then it is black mailed too. otherwise no one has courage to blackmail the state.
CJ IHC Athar Minallah gave these remarks during the hearing of the petitions filed by those who were rendered homeless in the wake of construction of new sectors in the federal capital.
He further remarked the influential persons have received compensation. Why was neither the compensation nor substitute plot provided to commoners. The corrupt elements who struck plea bargain with NAB later got the plots officially . But only those commoners were not provided compensation the graves of whose forefathers were in this city. Sometime later we came to know that thing in the name of state is nowhere in this city.
He further observed a commission was constituted by including elected members of this city but they too could not sort our problems facing this city. CDA is only engaged in serving F-6 and Elite class interests. Look at the plight of the remaining citizens of Islamabad. There is one parliament and two superior courts in this city. Even then law is in what condition. The laborer was most homeless person and why the plots were not given to laborers.
Counsel for housing foundation told the court that homes are being provided in Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme.
The court reserved judgment on the petitions filed by the affectees of sector F-14 and F-15.
