Police claimed to have arrested ten persons including a woman allegedly involved in drug selling in the provincial capital, said a handout released here on Thursday.
According to further details, police have launched a crackdown against drug dealers during which 10 people, including a woman, were arrested. During the operations police also recovered a total of 1.5 kg of ice and more than 7 kg of hashish.
Cases have been registered against the arrested persons and investigation has been started.
The operations were conducted by the Sarband Police Station, Tehkal Police Station, Khazana Police Station, Mathura Police Station, Chamkani Police Station and Rehman Baba Police Station.
Those who have been hleld in the different operations identified as Israr, Asghar, Wahid, Ali Rehman, Tahir Shah, Shah Mehmood, Noor Muhammad and Sher Khan and a woman.
During the preliminary investigation, the accused confessed to being involved in smuggling, including supplying ice and other drugs to certain customers. The accused have also confessed to the crime during the preliminary investigation, said police.
In a separate action, SHO Chamkani Police Station Haroon Jadoon arrested two accused Zain resident of Taxila and Zeeshan Waheed from Jamil Chowk during an operation on a tip-off.
Police have recovered thousands of rupees of counterfeit currency and a case has been registered against them.
