A woman on Sunday dropped a ‘burning vote’ inside ballot-box, which burnt all the casted votes, during local bodies’ polls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KPK) Karak district.
Karak Deputy Commissioner (DC) Tanveer-ur-Rehman informed on Sunday that during the local body re-polling in the area, a woman was indulged in the most bizarre act as she set her vote on fire and then thrusted the lighted piece of paper inside the ballot box. However, the woman is under arrest now.
Voting resumed after a little pause as the situation was calmed by the law enforcement agencies. No other unlawful activity followed the incident, Karak’s Deputy Commissioner said.
Deputy Commissioner said that the woman was arrested for her illegal and wrong action. He said the authorities were investigating as why she did this.
