Working to curb smuggling, corruption, says Ali Zaidi


WASHINGTON: Minster for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi on Tuesday said that his ministry is developing a special system to halt smuggling and corruption. Talking to Pakistani journalists in Washington, the minister said 5500 million tons of chemical is being released in the river in Karachi on daily basis. The release of chemical in such huge quantity is creating hazards for the sea life, he continued. He relayed that Houston and Karachi Port will be given status of sister cities and in this regard an accord will be signed soon.Zaidi regretted that the ministry was neglected in the past but now changes are being made into it.
