Usman Khawaja, a Pakistani-origin Test batsman from Australia, has said that Babar Azam is one of the best batsmen in the world.
Facing Shaheen Shah Afridi as an opener will not be easy, he added.
1st test of the three-match series between Pakistan and Australia will start from December 14, for which the Pakistani team has left for Australia via Dubai.
Pakistani team is led by Shan Masood, while the team includes Babar Azam, Sarfraz Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Nouman Ali and Abrar Ahmed among others.
Before the Test series against Pakistan, Usman Khawaja described Shaheen Afridi and David Warner’s last tackle in the Lahore Test as the best example of the spirit of cricket. While David Warner batted brilliantly, Shaheen Afridi smiled and shook hands after dismissing Warner. The previous Test series between Pakistan and Australia was brilliant both on and off the field.
The Australian batsman said that this time Pakistan’s strong batting line-up is coming to Australia, Pakistan has a player like Babar Azam who is considered as one of the best batsmen in the world, comparing Babar and Smith is like comparing Kohli and Smith. Abdullah Shafiq and Imamul Haq are also the best batsmen.
Regarding the Pakistani bowlers, Usman Khawaja said that Shaheen Afridi has the best wrist for speed and swing, as an opener it will not be easy to face Shaheen Afridi who bowls at a speed of 145 mph.
We also have many good names including Mitchell Starc, Pete Cummins, Steve Smith, David Warner and Travis Head, the three-Test series against Pakistan will prove to be a good one,” said the Australian batsman.
