World Tourism Day is commemorated on 27th September world wide. This date was choosen as on this date in 1970.the statues of the United World Tourism Organization(UNWTO) were adopted.
The purpose to celebrate this day is to raise awareness on the role of tourism within the international community and to demonstrate how it affects social, cultural, political and economic values world wide.
Every year there is a different theme to celebrate World Tourism Day which shows the importance and purpose of this day. This year the theme for celebrating the World Tourism Day is “Tourism and Rural Development”.
This year’s international day of observation comes out at a critical moment, as counties around the world look to tourism to drive recovery, including in rural communities, providing jobs and opportunities, most notably for women and youth because the whole world has faced a great loss in economies because of the outbreak of covid-19 pandemic.
World Tourism Day is celebrated with the great interest and varieties of competitions are held at this day such as photo competitions promoting the tourism, tourism award presentations including free entries, discounts/special offers to the general public.
France is the world’s number one destination for international tourism.
For the first time the history of the World Tourism Day, the 2020 official celebration will be hosted by group of countries and not the single member state. These countries are Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Brazil and Chile, which reflects the current need for international solidarity and cooperation.
Pakistan is listed as top tourist destination for 2020 by US Travel Magazine and has been declared as world’s third highest potential adventure destination for 2020.
Pakistan is full of natural beauty and attractive sites which attracts the tourists and provides them low cost tourism.
Northern areas of Pakistan like Gilgit, Naran Valley, Kaghan Valley, Skardu, Hunza Valley, Naltar Valley, Fairy Meadows etc are heavenly view destinations which attracts tourists not just from Pakistan but across the world.
Recently, a number of youtubers have visited Pakistan and they described Pakistan as the safest tourism destination and the people are so loving and kind to the tourists.
Each year a number of tourists visit Pakistan, the most friendliness country blessed with the heavenly landscapes.
