World water day marked in Khyber

To mark the World water day, International non-profitable organization Qatar charity Peshawar chapter in collaboratio with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa education department on Friday organized a daylong awareness seminar at government high school Hashimabad in district Khyber.
A number of goverment and education departments officials,students,teachers,deputy education officer Shahid Ali, principal government high school Hashimabad Abdur Rehman Afridi and Qatar charity officials participated in the awareness sesion.
Students delivered their speeches and staged drama to attract participants towards the importance of clean dinking water.
Public health and engineering department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa senior research officer Adeel Khan was the chief guest.
Adeel Khan said that INGO Qatar charity and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa public health and engineering department working jointly on the preservation and vailability of clean drinking water in seven districts. He said that watertable was alarmingly dropping down gradually.
He said everyone should realize the importance of water in life. He added that if they not reserved water they could face severe shortage of water in the coming years.
“It is the moral and social obligation of everyone in the society to work on the preservation of clean drinking water so that we can save the life of coming generations”, said Adeel Khan.
Qatar charity official Sajjad Khan said their several water related schemes were underway in seven districts of Khyber PakhtunkhAwa. He added that they had distributed water kits amongTirah residents last month and soon they would also distribute Ramazan food packages in the far-flung Tirah valley to help poors to have enough foods in the holy fasting month.
He said they had also trained hundreds of youth working as volunteers for orphans in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Deputy district education officer Shahid Ali,pricipal Abdur Rhman and Sajjad Khan said that climate change,poor awareness among the people were the core factors of water shortage in the world.
They urged the citizens to collectively work and build reserviors,ponds and water channels to help reduce the water shortage and provide clean drinking water to everyone. Qatar charity distributed prizes and shields among the students.
Principal Abdur Rehman Afridi thanked the Qatar charity officials for conducting the awareness session and termed it beneficial for them.
