The World XI won the two-match series against Pakistan XI at the National Hockey Stadium in Lahore on Sunday. The match between World XI and Pakistan ended with a draw on Sunday.
The World XI had earlier defeated Pakistan by 5-1 in the first match that was played in Karachi.Pakistan Hockey Federation President Brig (retd.) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar, Senior Secretary Shahbaz Ahmad and a number of former hockey Olympians were present on the occasion.
Spectators had gathered in large numbers to witness the revival of international hockey in Pakistan. Fans seemed excited over the visit of the World XI – an effort being made to help revive sports in the country.
The international hockey event was hosted after a gap of twenty four years. It was back in 1994 when Pakistan hosted its last grand hockey event, though little known teams like China and Oman had visited Pakistan later.
