KOHAT: The Water and Sanitation Service Company Kohat (WSSCK), under a holistic plan, has ensured uninterrupted supply of water to mourners and cleanliness throughout 10 days of the Muharram Ul Haram in its jurisdiction areas of the district.
Following the directives of the CEO WSSCK Arif Rauf, all administrative officers and staff remained on duties, according to a press release issued on Friday.
The WSSCK, right from the first day of Muharram, has carried out cleanliness of Imambargahs and on routes of mourning processions.
The special Muharram cleanliness was supervised by Deputy General Manager of the company, Efif, whereas over 80 sanitation workers and 30 water supply staff performed duties.
The designated routes for 7th, 8th, and 9th and 10th Muharram processions, including Bannu Bazaar, Meena Bazaar, Zargaran Bazaar, Hindu Mohallah, Mustafa Bazaar, Millad Chowk and Syed Aleem Ghazi Ziarat kept clean and sprinkled water.
Besides cleaning garbage from sewerage lines, manholes were covered by iron and repaired on routes of mourning processions. Three water tankers were available on a daily basis for provision of water.
The Shiitees leaders and mosque caretakers especially thanked the CEO WSSCK Arif Rauf and other senior officials and workers for keeping cleanliness and civil works during the 10 days of Muharram
