Water and Sanitation Services Company Kohat (WSSCK) has disposed of1925 tons remains and offal of sacrificial animals during three day cleanliness operation in its jurisdiction areas in the city.
The company sanitation staff and officers remained on duties and special cleanliness camping during three days of Eid.
Following its already devised cleanliness plan for three day Eid, the WSSCK has disposed of 1925 tons of remains and offal of sacrificial animals in six urban and KDA by using environment friendly methods.
As many as 100 vehicles, including Suzuki mini dumper, Garbage compactor, Tractor trolleys, Skip tractors, and excavators were utilized in the cleanliness operation. Nearly 400 administrative staff took part in the special cleanliness drive.
According to the details issued here on Wednesday by the WSSCK media cell, the special Eid cleanliness drive was formally inaugurated by DDAC Chairman Ziaul Bangash along with Deputy Commissioner Kohat Roshan, WSSCK CEO Arif Rauf, Mayor Kohat Qari Sher Zaman and former Nazim Naseem Afridi.
The WSSCK has set up more than 232 collection points and 22 transfer stations in its jurisdiction areas, regarding which, awareness was already being created among general masses through social media and different mass contact and a special campaign.
During the special Eid campaign, the company has distributed 5000 biodegradable bags.
The campaign was randomly supervised by the company CEO Arif Rauf, Deputy General Manager Tahir Hafif, Manager Operations Shehbaz Khattak, Manager Media and Communication Ms Asma Ali, Assistant Engineer Shehryar Khattak and Chief Sanitary Inspector Muhammad Sohail, which aimed at to avoid any public complaint about cleanliness during the three day of Eid.
The special cleanliness operation was started from early morning on the first day of Eid, which lasted last night till 10:00 PM. The WSSCK complaint cell remained active around the three days of Eid.
As many as 23 complaints were so far registered, which had been resolved on the spot. The remains of sacrificial animals were disposed of at a dumping site.
After the completion of the special cleanliness operation on Eid, all collection points were washed in order to prevent the spreading of any kind of gems.
The WSSCK also carried out fumigation in its jurisdiction areas.
Besides, the company performance during the three days of Eid was also praised by district administration, the general public were also received through social media, video messages appreciating the special cleanliness operation.
