Water and Sanitation Services Company Kohat (WSSCK) is fully making possible the supply of clean drinking water to people of the city under its limited resources. This was stated by the company CEO Arif Rauf, according to a statement issued here on Friday.
Arif Rauf said the company is confronting difficulties to uninterrupted water supply owing to unscheduled electricity loadshedding and low voltage issues. The CEO informed eight tube wells in Kohat city and three Kohat Development Authority (KDA) have been affected because of the extremely receding water table.
Despite the fact that, the WSSCK is continued to supplying water.
Arif Rauf said the water supply has been disrupted in wake of frequent power outages, especially water consumption was also increased in summer and hot and humid weather.
The company senior official elaborated there were required uninterrupted power supply for four to five hours to fill huge water reservoirs.
He added it isn’t possible to release until complete filling of these water reservoirs, because water pressure issues have occurred.
The CEO said the provincial government and district administration have kept aware about these issues.
Arif Rauf expressed hope that the issue of water and cleanliness would be resolved shortly under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cities Improvement Project (KPCIP).
The CEO informed that solarization of more than 34 tube-wells will be carried under the KPCIP, for which a bid has already been opened and work would be initiated very shortly.
