The Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan (WSSCM) has disposed off 2282 tonnes of animal waste during the three days of Eid ul Azha.
On Eid 1st day the waste disposal operation was started from College chowk and continue till 3rd day of Eid.
Members of Provincial Assembly Zahir Shah Toru and Abdus Salam Afridi inaugurated wsscm Eid ul Azha Operations.
According to the WSSCM, The Management and Sanitation Staff were on duty during Eid days, 600 sanitation workers participated in the cleanliness operation, while 72 vehicles were deployed. To carry out animals offal. 73 Complaints were received during Eid days which were immediately resolved.
The water supply staff of the company also ensured uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water to the citizens while team also carried out disinfection sprays in different areas of the city.
At the inaugural ceremony, MPA Zahir Shah Toru has said that PTI provincial government is committed to provide clean and green environment to the citizens.
MPA Abdus Salam Afridi has said sanitation companies are established in divisional headquarters of the province for providing best sanitation services to the citizens.
Mardan City Mayor Himayatullah Mayar also lauded the efforts of wsscm and said local government representatives gave full support to the company.
CEO Engineer Amir Khan said 1048 tons offal were removed by 72 vehicles on the first day of Eid while on 2nd day 682 tons and 552 tons animal remains disposed off safely on 3rd day.
73 complaints were received during Eid three days and all complaints were resolved. He added,
Amir Khan paying tribute to all the staff of the company for their excellent cleanliness, and said that our workers worked day and night to provide clean environment to the citizens of Mardan.
Moreover, an awareness campaign was also launched before the Eid where meetings were held with elected local government representatives, ulemas and traders.
WSSCM Board of Directors Chairman Professor Doctor Fazli Qari lauded the efforts of wsscm team and thanked the citizens for their cooperation.
