Governor Says Poets are real thinkers of society
PESHAWAR(PR):The Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that opportunities were being made available to the youth to get technical education as it was the only path to prosperity and development. Our youths are very talented. They have the potential to work for the progress of the country.
He was addressing at the prize distribution ceremony of the Provincial Skills Competition arranged by the National Vocation and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) Prime Minister Youth Skill Development Programme at Agriculture University Peshawar on Wednesday. Besides Vice Chancellor Agriculture University Peshawar Prof: Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Swati, Director General NAVTTC Islamabad Dr. Nasir Khan, Director General, NAVTTC Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA Syed Qasim Shah and a large number of students and teachers were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said the skilled human resource was essential for running the industrial units. He said that technical trainings can play a vital role in the social and economic development of the country.
“The youth must be well-educated, well-trained and well-equipped to enter in the job market,” he said.
The Governor said that the government had started various skill development programmes for the youth. “These training programmes meet the needs of the local industries and a large number of youngsters could get overseas jobs and contribute to remittances,” he added.
The Governor visited and inspected the stalls and appreciated the work of trainees. The Governor distributed cash prizes of Rs.75,000, Rs.50,000 and Rs.30,000 among the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders of each trade respectively. #

He was addressing as the chief guest at the Jashne Khushal arranged by Markazi Khushal Adabi Jirga at Khushal Khan Khattak Memorial Library, Akora Khattak. Former Provincial Minister, Mr. Abdul Subhan Khan, a large number of poets, scholars and writers from all over the province were present on this occasion, besides local elders.
The Governor said that Khushal Khan Khattak was not only a great poet, writer and scholar but also a great fighter.
He said that the Poet of the East Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal had duly acknowledged the visionary Mediaroach and leadership qualities of Khushal Khan Khattak. Earlier, the President of the Markazi Khushal Adab-o-Saqafati Jirga, Mr. Muhammad Jan Jehangir while presenting welcome address highlighted the problems being faced by the local people. The Governor listened their problems patiently and assured to solve them on priority basis.
