10 terrorists killed in Tirah valley air strikes

PESHAWAR:Ten terrorists have been killed in air strike launched by Pakistani fighter jets on their hideouts in Tirah valley of Khyber Agency on Friday morning.
Four hideouts of the terrorists were also destroyed.INP reported.
Military officials said two hideouts were also destroyed in the airstrikes.
Pakistan Air Force jets precisely targeted militant hideouts in Kukikhel area of Tirah valley in which nine militants were killed and two hideouts were destroyed, said security officials.
Khyber Agency and North Waziristan are among Pakistan’s seven semi-autonomous tribal districts near the Afghan border, rife with homegrown insurgents and foreign militants.
These areas have also been considered home to religious extremist organisations including Al Qaeda and the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Military operation Zarb-i-Azb and the National Action Plan were launched against insurgents following attacks on Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport and Peshawar’s Army Public School in 2014.
Officials say nearly 3,000 militants have been killed since the launch of the latest offensive.
According to details, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) fighters bombed terrorists’ hideouts in Khyber Agency’s Tirah Valley, wherein 10 terrorists were killed.
Sources said that PAF’s fighter jets pounded the hideouts of terrorists in the Valley. In the action, four hideouts of terrorists were also destroyed.
Khyber Agency’s Tirah valley had been strong hold of terrorists before launching of operation to eliminate the anti state elements. As the area is close to the Afghan border, terrorists sneak in from across the border to carry out their activities.
Sources said Pakistani security forces are on the alert to thwart the entry of terrorists in Pakistan and whenever some of them sneak in, immediate action is taken against them.
