District Police Officer (DPO) Rai Mazhar Iqbal officially welcomed the 104 new recruits, including 11 female constables into the Khyber Police.
This ceremony celebrated their successful completion of the ETEA exam and psychological tests, marking a new chapter for the district’s police force.
DPO Rai Mazhar Iqbal praised the recruits for their achievement, highlighting that their selection was based purely on merit and capability. He distributed appointment letters to the new officers, emphasizing the importance of their roles in enhancing public safety.
The DPO reiterated the commitment of the Khyber Police to uphold meritocracy, in line with the vision of Inspector General of Police Akhtar Hayat Khan. He stressed the ongoing efforts to recruit local youth to bolster the police force’s effectiveness, particularly in the context of the region’s unique challenges.
Reflecting on the sacrifices made by the police, DPO Iqbal noted that the Khyber Police has lost 130 personnel in the line of duty, including four awarded the Medal of Courage.
He urged the new recruits to honor these sacrifices by dedicating themselves to the protection of citizens and national integrity.
During his address, DPO Iqbal expressed confidence that the new officers would serve with diligence and integrity. He encouraged them to foster positive relationships with the community, remain committed to their duties, and contribute to the department’s reputation.
The ceremony was attended by SP Investigation Kamal Hussain and DSP Headquarters Hikmat Khan Afridi, who also welcomed the recruits and underscored the importance of their service to the community. The event concluded with hopes for a successful and impactful tenure for the new members of the Khyber Police.
