The first operation against ISIS in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in 2014 when a man named Abdul Rashid, who had links with the terrorist group, in Garhi Atta Mohammad, a suburb of Peshawar, was killed.
Since 2014, KP has been facing resistance of terrorists group namely Tehreek -e -Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Hafiz Gul Bahadur group, Tehreek -e -Jihad Pakistan and several other terrorists organizations, including ISIS.
The Islamic Emirate and the Tehreek -e -Taliban Pakistan are accused of Pakistan that ISIS has the support of Pakistan, but according to a report by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), ISIS reported in Pakistan from 2020 to 2023.
The terrorists have carried as many as 119 attacks over 4 years against law enforcement agencies and other gatherings of political parties.
As a result of these attacks, 627 people were martyred. 91 have been carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. ISIS attacks also include 15 suicide blasts.
Five attacks have been carried out on security forces while 10 suicide blasts have been carried out in public places.
As many as 119 attacks have been reported in Pakistan from 2020 to 2023 of which 209 people martyred.
The highest 42 attacks have been carried out in Bajaur, of which 91 people have been martyred. 35 attacks in Peshawar have killed 100 people.
Six attacks in South Waziristan, 3 people in 3 attacks in Khyber, 3 people in Karak one in an attack in Kohat, one in an attack in Kurram, 3 people in an attack in North Waziristan, 3 in Swat attack Has been martyred.
According to reports, ISIS has launched 18 attacks in Balochistan province of Pakistan during the same period, of which 64 people have been martyred.
Nine attacks in Mustang have resulted in 12 people, 24 people in 3 attacks in Kachi, 18 in Quetta, 18 in Kalat.
