12 arrest, four shops seals in anti-encroachment drive

Twelve persons were apprehended and four shops were sealed in an anti-encroachment drive carried out in Landi Kotal Bazaar on Monday.
On the directive of Deputy Commissioner, Khyber, the local administration team with assistance of police and headed by Additional Assistant Commissioner, Shahabuddin, Tehsildar Temour Afridi and others initiated the anti-encroachment campaign.
The anti-encroachment drive was carried out in butchers’ street, food street, ranger street, cloth street etc.
The officials removed all encroachments to ease pedestrians’ movement in the holy month of Ramadan.
Four shops were sealed and 12 persons were put behind the bars for violating the law in addition with a number of encroached material were also confiscated.
All the shopkeepers and makeshift holders were warned of occupying walkers’ way in the streets.
Assistant Commissioner, Landi Kotal Inamullah Khan Wazir appealed to the local traders to avoid encroaching on main roads and streets and follow the civic discipline.
He maintained that the anti-encroachment operation would be continued to ensure smoother pedestrian as well as traffic flow.
