16 drug peddlers held, 21kg drug seized in crackdown

Police claimed to have arrested 16 suspects during crackdowns against drug pushers in the provincial capital, said a handout. According to details, police has initiated a comprehensive crackdown against drug peddlers in Peshawar and arrested 16 suspects including those who supply drug to specific customers. Police during operations also recovered 21kg of drugs including 400 gram of Ice-drug and motorcycles used for drug supply to different parts of the provincial capital.
Acting on tip-off, SHO Town Ibrahim Khan arrested accused Shakirullah, SHO Agha Mir Jani Shah Wajid Khan arrested Merajul Haq and SHO Chamkani Haroon Jadoon also held a number of drug peddlers.
The accused Mohammad Jaffer and Zahid have been arrested while supplying drugs.
Similarly, during other operations, SHO Pahari Pura Police Station Aizaz Alam, SHO Pahndu Mubarak Zeb, SHO Faqirabad Police Station Ejaz Nabi, SHO Pushtkhara Police Station Muhammad Ali and SHO Sarband Police Station Sardar Hussain held eight other alleged drug pushers including Abbas, Mujahid, Waris, Muhammad Gul, Haji, Habib, Syed Ali Shah, Noman, Saeed Khan, Muhammad Jafar and Zahid.
Police said that during the preliminary investigations the accused have also confessed to being involved in the drug smuggling.
