160 held in crackdown on drug peddlers

The city police has initiated a special campaign aimed at eradicating drug-related crimes and safeguarding the younger generation from the harmful effects of substances like ice.
According to a statement issued here on Monday, police on the second day of operations have registered 84 cases against drug dealers, smugglers, and ice distributors, and arrested 92 suspects.
“In total, 146 cases have been registered, with 160 suspects apprehended over the first two days. Police also recovered 54 kg of ice, over 49 kg of marijuana, and 18 bottles of alcohol,”. police said.
Under the supervision of Divisional SPs, targeted operations were carried out across the district. The police focused on dangerous drug dealers based on a special list issued by authorities.
These efforts targeted inter-provincial drug smuggling networks, including those supplying drugs and ice to specific customers in Peshawar and other districts.
CCPO Qasim Ali Khan, and SSP (Operations) Peshawar Masood Ahmed, have vowed to intensify the crackdown, with a total of 146 cases filed and large quantities of illegal substances confiscated.
