178 FIRs Registered at Landikotal Police Station in 2025

Police officials of Landikotal police station on Thrusday said that a total of 178 First Information Reports (FIRs) were registered during the year 2025 in connection with various incidents across the subdivision.
According to details, the cases registered during 2025 included incidents of firing, scuffles and other criminal activities. Of the total, five FIRs were lodged over murder, while 13 FIRs were registered for attempted murder. Police also registered 30 FIRs related to narcotics dealing and smuggling in one past year.
A significant number of cases, 57 FIRs were registered against Afghan nationals apprehended at the Torkham border for entering the country without valid documents.
These cases were lodged under the 14 Foreigners Act. Additionally, 19 FIRs were registered in arms-related cases, three for kidnapping and three for robbery.
Police sources further revealed that 572 suspects involved in various crimes were arrested during the year. Overall, the registered cases included land disputes, incidents of firing, quarrels, theft and other offences, bringing the total number of FIRs to 178.
The police said that apart from registered cases, dozens of disputes were resolved without FIRs through Dispute Resolution Councils (DRCs), mutual consent and the traditional jirga system, ensuring timely relief to the public. Special attention was also given to women complainants, with their issues resolved promptly to provide swift and affordable justice, an initiative termed a positive step by police officials.
Investigation officers, the SHO and other police personnel, including muharrar staff posted at Landikotal police station, were commended for dealing courteously with the public and resolving issues despite challenging circumstances. Their services, police sources added, appreciated by the local community.
Police statistics indicate that compared to other areas, the crime rate in Landikotal subdivision remained relatively low in 2025, with most disputes revolving around land issues and financial transactions.
Meanwhile, residents of Landikotal have urged senior police officials to take practical steps to further improve the law and order situation and strengthen dispute resolution mechanisms in the subdivision, so that public hardships can be reduced and people can lead a more peaceful life.
