The 18th International UMR Conference concluded at PMC with a strong call to integrate research with practice in healthcare. Held under the theme “United for Health: Research, Policy and Practice,” the conference brought together undergraduate medical researchers from across Pakistan and abroad for academic exchange, innovation, and inspiration. The event provided a vibrant platform for students to present research, engage in dialogue, and compete in workshops and contests aimed at promoting evidence-based medical education. Top positions were secured by students of various institutions in different categories contest. The closing ceremony was attended by notable guests, including Chief Guest Capt. (R) Kamran Afridi, Secretary, Higher Education Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; Prof. Dr. Zafar Mirza, Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University; Dr. Nasir Shah,DG, HEC ,Prof. Dr. Zahoor A. Swati, Director Riphah Peshawar campus ,Dr. Hala Rajab, Director UMR; and Hamza Farooq, President UMR Society.
Speakers emphasized the importance of fostering a strong research culture among youth and highlighted innovation as key to healthcare advancement. The event concluded with an award ceremony and reaffirmed PMC’s commitment to nurturing future leaders in health research and policy.
The conference concluded with an award distribution ceremony recognizing the outstanding achievements of participating students. The event reaffirmed Peshawar Medical College’s ongoing commitment to excellence in medical research and its dedication to empowering the next generation of healthcare professionals.
