The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has successfully recovered 196 kanals of government land from illegal occupants in Charsadda district, while taking action against revenue officials involved in fraudulent land transfers in Hangu district.
According to official sources, a complaint was received regarding the illegal occupation of land belonging to the Sports Department in Charsadda.
Following a detailed inquiry, ACE officials discovered that 196 kanals of valuable land had been unlawfully occupied. The estimated value of the land stands at Rs 592.5 million, based on official rates.
Acting promptly, Anti-Corruption officials, in collaboration with the district administration, police, and revenue department, launched an operation to reclaim the land. The recovered property has since been returned to the Sports Department.
In a separate development, ACE KP took action in Hangu district following a complaint about the fraudulent transfer of land. The inquiry revealed that the land was illegally transferred three years after the death of the actual owner — a woman. The investigation confirmed the involvement of revenue officials in the fraudulent activity.
As a result, an FIR has been registered against those involved in the scam. The accused include Tehsildar Muhammad Tariq, Patwari Zahidullah, and private individuals Aqil Mir, Zarwar Jan, and Karim Gul. Tehsildar Tariq and Patwari Zahidullah have been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects.
