PESHAWAR
District administration during an anti-encroachment drive has arrested 24 shopkeepers for erecting encroachments outside their shops while three persons were also arrested for operating three illegal suzuki stands, said a press release issued here on Wednesday.
On the directives of the Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, Khalid Mahmood, the Additional Assistant Commissioner, Uzma Mukarram during inspection of bazaars on Dilzak Road arrested 24 shopkeepers for erecting encroachments outside their shops. According to district administration, these shopkeepers were issued several notices to not display goods outside shops and due to their stubborn attitude they were left with other option than taking action against them.
DC Peshawar has directed all administrative officers for conducting random visits to bazaars and stern action against those re-erecting their encroachments. District police bust gang of bank robbers; arrest high profile criminal.
DI KHAN, Feb 16 (APP): The district police had busted a gang of bank robbers and arrested seven accused along with a high profile mastermind criminal having head money of Rs 0.5 million and wanted to Karachi, Rawalpindi, Hari Pur and DI Khan police in cases of target killing, robberies and car and motorcycle snatching.
District Police Officer Najam ul Hasnain Liaqat told a press conference here at his office that the gang of robbers in a heist took Rs 4.2 million rupees from a private bank at Sheikh Yousaf Adda on November 12, 2021 and fled from the scene.
Regional Police Officer Dera Shaukat Abbas took strong notice of the robbery and constituted a high level team of police led by SDPO Adnan Khan to trace the accused.
The investigation team after hectic efforts and working on scientific grounds traced and arrested one robber from district Malakand and five other facilitators and recovered Rs 1.35 million from their custody.
During the investigation from the arrested accused, the investigation team started searching for the mastermind of the bank robbery and traced the accused Mohammad Safdar who was having Rs 0.5 million head money and was wanted to Punjab, Sindh and KP police in various crimes.
The investigation team conducted a raid at his native town here but he managed to escape from the scene and fled to Karachi. The police team acting on a tip-off conducted raids in various areas of Karachi but the accused travelled to Rawalpindi and later to his own town Thoya Fazal here and was finally arrested by the investigation team.
The police team has recovered Rs 0.5 million, one 9mm pistol, fake ID cards and armed licenses from his custody. He was also involved in looting Rs 5.7 million from a citizen and Rs one million from another in the jurisdictions of University police station and City police station.
