286 drug dealers held, over 141 kg drugs recovered in last month in Dera

The Dera range police have apprehended 286 drug peddlers recovering over 141 kg drugs, eight bottles of liquor and non custom paid (NCP) items worth around Rs 694.7 million during last month. According to a police spokesman, following the instructions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police (IGP) Akhtar Hayyat Khan, the Dera range police led by Regional Police Officer (RPO) Nasir Mehmood Satti had launched a crackdown against smuggling of NCP items and drugs like rest of the province.
During the same crackdown, the police arrested 286 drug dealers recovering 97 kg of hashish, 13 kg of heroin, two kg of opium, 29 kg of Ice drug and 08 bottles of liquor from them.
Similarly, strict checking at all the check posts and effective patrolling in different areas were underway to control smuggling which was badly affecting national economy.
In continuation of that checking, the police recovered NCP items worth Rs 694.7 million.
The recovered NCP items included eight cars, two heavy bikes, 244,000 liters Iranian oil, food commodities and others. All the recovered NCP items were handed over to the customs authorities for further legal action.
