A fire wreaked havoc in interior Lahore.
10 people died including 6 women and 3 children of same family in fire incident.
Fire broke out in a building in Bhatigate area of Lahore.
10 people were burnt to death in the incident.
The deceased include wife, children, grandsons and granddaughters of a citizen named Zaheer-ul-Din Babar.
The victims include 60 years old Saira Bano, Farzana, Amber, Ghazal Fatima, 18 years old Sania, 16 years Adil, 4 years old Anzala Fatima, 13 years old Seemab Mano and 7 years old Alamdar.
According to rescue authorities, fire broke out due to burst of refrigerator compressor in house.
The fire engulfed the 3 floors of the building; the deceased had locked themselves in a room and could not be saved.
Authorities said that one member of the family has survived by jumping from the roof.
As information was received, police, rescue 1122 and fire brigade vehicles reached the scene and rescue operations were started.
Rescue officers brought the fire under control after three hours of continuous efforts.
Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed deep grief and regret over the incident.
He has ordered a full investigation into the incident and sought a report from the Commissioner Lahore.
