ISLAMABAD : A five-day countrywide polio eradication campaign has been launched.
During this campaign polio drops will be administered to forty million children below five years age.
As per media reports , this is the first nationwide campaign in the country after four-month suspension due coronavirus outbreak.
During this massive anti polio drive all children under the age of five will be vaccinated through door-to-door visits by almost 270,000 vaccinators in all four provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
A comprehensive training was imparted to the polio workers on what safety measures have to be pursued while vaccinating the children within the COVID-19 context.
Strict measures have been set for all staff following the government’s set guidelines on COVID-19 preventative measures.
The campaign will conclude on September 25.
